After the physician’s examination, measurements are made by taking the natural lines of the eye as a reference. The operation can be performed under general or local anesthesia. The surgeon makes incisions on the folds of the upper lids and just below the eyelashes on the lower lids, and removes fat, excess skin and sagging muscles from there. Surgery usually takes 1-2 hours. The operation is completed by suturing the opened incisions. The eyes are left open by sticking thin tapes on these stitches. Although these stitches are visible at first, the scars disappear over time. Depending on the patient’s condition, he can be kept in the hospital for one night or sent home the same day.
Stitches are removed after 4-5 days, bruises begin to pass with this process. However, the healing of bruises and suture marks may take some time depending on the skin structure of the patient. Swelling is seen on the eyelids for about 1 month after the operation.
