Liposuction

Liposuction, also known as ‘fat removal’ or ‘Lipo’ among the people, is the operation of removing the regional fat accumulated in the body by absorbing it with a special vacuum or injectors.

Liposuction is the best solution for people to get the ideal body that they dream of and get rid of obesity, for the patients to be completely satisfied with their body after the operation.

WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?

It is done to give the body a more aesthetic appearance by removing the fat that accumulates in certain areas and cannot be removed by slimming methods. Its basic logic is based on removing the tissues that are resistant to diet and exercise from the body. It is generally used for fat in areas such as abdomen, hips, hips and waist.

Liposuction is a very useful method for body shaping when performed by competent hands in appropriate conditions and when all warnings are taken into account and recommendations are followed by the patient. Considering the shortness of the recovery period, it is a successful operation that increases the quality of life and increases self-confidence for both women and men.

It is the most frequently applied aesthetic operation all over the world with liposuction techniques, which have been added with the developing technology of today.

CANDIDATES FOR LIPOSUCTION

As in all health-related branches, a specialist doctor’s opinion is absolutely necessary before liposuction. It should be noted that liposuction is never a weight loss method.

An ideal candidate for Liposuction surgery should be at a healthy, stable weight and BMI, but may still be bothered by excess fat deposits located anywhere on their body that don’t appear to respond to diet or exercise.

To be a good candidate, you should have achieved or are very close to achieving your ‘ideal’ weight and are able to maintain this weight.

You should have good skin elasticity to help ensure optimum results from your Liposuction surgery. Liposuction is not a treatment for loose or sagging skin, and will not help to firm or tighten loose skin.

In summary, for your excess weight, you should first get rid of your weight by applying a diet and exercise program, and you should prefer liposuction for your excesses that you cannot get rid of in this way.

FOR WHOM IS LIPOSUCTION NOT APPLICABLE?

Anyone who does not have a systemic health problem can undergo liposuction.

People with health problems such as heart and diabetes should be subjected to some tests and tests before the application, and the risks and dangers that may occur during the operation should be determined and the surgery should be planned by taking the necessary precautions against them.

Although there is no age limit for liposuction, it cannot be applied to some patients who have lost their skin elasticity due to age.

HOW IS LIPOSUCTION SURGERY DONE?

Before the operation, the area to be intervened is marked by the surgeon. The surgeon decides on the amount of fat to be taken, taking into account the examination and the patient’s complaint.

The amount considered medically appropriate is between 2.5 and 4 liters per day. Liposuction can be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the surgeon’s preference.

As the name itself implies, high-tech suctioning equipment (lipo suction) is a key component of Liposuction fat cell reduction. A cannula is inserted through the small incisions to loosen excess fat using a controlled back and forth motion. The dislodged fat is then suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum or syringe attached to the cannula. The process is typically quick and rapidly excises excess fat from under the skin.

RECOVERY

After the liposuction operation, the patient is hospitalized for 1 night for control purposes. Corsets specially prepared for the region are used for 4 or 8 weeks, depending on the patient’s condition and the amount of fat taken.

In the first days, edema and bruising are expected, it will pass over time. The patient can usually return to his daily life and work life within a few days.

In order to return to compelling activities such as sports, edema must be completed and full recovery must be achieved. The full recovery period can usually take up to a month.

You will need to work with your Surgeon to allow for adequate and proper healing time. It is important to consult with your Surgeon before returning to daily activities such as driving, lifting and exercise.
