Brow lift operations are usually performed under local anesthesia or sedation. In some special cases, it may be necessary to do it under general anesthesia.
Indirect brow lift surgery is performed through the eyelid. After the outer half of the eyebrow is detached from the bone and stretched to the level determined before the operation, it is fixed to the moving tissue on the bone with a few permanent sutures.
In the direct method, an incision is made just above the hairy part of the eyebrow. The incision is deepened without damaging the hair follicles, the amount of tissue determined in the examination is removed, stretched and fixed with embedded sutures. The skin incision is closed with a cosmetic suture, which is also hidden by the hairy tissue.
The third method used in brow lift surgery is endoscopic brow lift operation. In this method, incisions are made in the scalp, and after descending to the tissue plane, all tissues and eyebrows are freed with the help of an endoscope. Then, adhering to the planned application, all related eyebrow and forehead tissues are raised and fixed with stitches or implants. After the incisions are closed with stitches, the surgery is terminated with a bandage applied to the forehead area.
After a few hours of ice application and observation after the surgery, the patient can be discharged within the day. Regardless of the technique used in the operation, the eyes should remain open.
